Mobile Outreach Program
We "deliver" hands-on science programs to private schools, nursing homes, ALFs, clubs and organizations. More than 10 thousand people enjoy these programs annually.
Science Center instructors pack up a van with hands-on science materials and visit kindergarten classrooms. Kindergarten teachers choose 2 of 3 subjects: Animals, Marine Life and The Senses. All are exciting workshops that encourage interest and study in science.
A Science Center instructor arrives at a 3rd - 5th grade classroom "in character" as a Spaniard who sailed to Native Florida. Storytelling and hands-on artifacts bring archaeology to life!
Science Center instructors visit nursing homes, senior centers, senior groups and elder hostels with hands-on science instruction.
The Science Center's Mobile Outreach also takes part in community events throughout the year.
Our black history program is in the process of revision.
