The Science Center Partners with INDUSTRY

For over 52 years, the main focus of the Science Center has been offering quality science programming to students in grades K-12. However, in order to prepare our students to be qualified for the advanced requirements of the 21st century, the Center had to be reinvented to a discretely focused STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education facility – the only of its kind in Pinellas County.

With our discrete STEM programming,
the Center has effectively adopted a much broader mission. Education, and more importantly STEM education, cannot be effective without the integration of industry needs and support.

We believe that industry is the ultimate customer of the educational process. The “factory” must be linked between K-12, informal education, post secondary, and beyond to internships, mentorships and into appropriate industries.
